Denien Rasmussen Promoted to Chief Operating Officer

RW Smith today announced the promotion of Denien Rasmussen to the position of Chief Operating Officer. Ms. Rasmussen’s appointment is effective immediately.
As Chief Operating Officer, Ms. Rasmussen will work closely with the President and Chief Executive Officer in overseeing the management and operation of RW Smith. In her role as Chief Operating Officer, Ms. Rasmussen will lead RW Smith’s operations by directing and coordinating activities consistent with established goals, objectives and policies. Responsibilities will also include managing the implementation of business development, operational and technology programs to ensure attainment of business plan growth and profit.

Rasmussen joined the RW Smith trading desk as a broker’s broker in 1986 from J.F. Hartfield where she gained in-depth experience in all aspects of inter-dealer brokering. Over the next two decades, she accumulated experience in senior leadership positions at RW Smith, including a permanent position on the Executive Committee. Ms. Rasmussen has helped drive RW Smith’s operational activities, including trading, technology development and business systems over the past twenty years and will now oversee operational objectives, special projects and new business opportunities to help realize current and future goals of RW Smith.
