He began his career at Merrill Lynch Pierce Fenner & Smith, but spent the majority of his career at Shearson Shearson Lehman Hutton and then Fidelity Investments. He moved to Shearson Lehman Hutton to work as a Municipal Bond Liaison then Municipal Bond Trader, and later worked for Fidelity Investments, where he spent the last 18 years as Vice President.
